I’ve been lax, but I just haven’t been able to find the time.  Content yourself with some more George Carlin, his pilot seems to be where I’m at these days.

February 16: Keepin’ it real in the air:

Pilot with the blues: “Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve been feeling kind of depressed lately, and I think you’ll agree, we all share guilt for the world’s suffering and deteriorating condition.  Sometimes, I ask myself, ‘Is it all worthwhile?’  Quite often, I give up hope completely and try to think of interesting ways of killing myself that would get my name on television….” (Sounds of a stuggle in the cockpit.)

Is that kind of like watching the bus driver walk to the back of the bus to take a leak while barreling down the highway?

Lax is fine. I have a problem with flaccid, though.

Like Ex-Lax, Gramps. Metamucil is your friend, kid. Glad you’re popping in, at least.

Oh dear. It’d be terrible to be on that flight.

Sometimes these days it takes more than just killing oneself spectacularly to make the news.

In Chicago a person set himself on fire next to a busy expressway (in emulation of the Vietnam war monks) to protest the war, and the only papers that reported on it were the music papers, and that was only because he was part of the underground music scene.

It’s hard to compete with Britney and Obama for press coverage these days. A person really has to go out spectacularly. There just is too much going on.

Note to piglet: Let me assure you, as an “older” broad who was there at the time, George was always funny as hell but never, ever even remotely sexy. ;-)
Nah, never.

one wink: i find intelligence sexy, over physical attributes. and the cherry on top, george is crazy. that’s a combo that works for me :) and, i think he very well may have been the first rapper.

grampa, since you aren’t here to entertain us is it ok for us to carry on without you here?

I never thought George Carlin was funny. Or attractive. But he was in Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. That has to count for something.

Grampa, where’d ya go?

Assuming that grampa says it’s ok to carry on… I’m with you piglet, (hey, is this where you found me??? duh.) I am completely taken with a man’s intellect and sense of humor. But George is/was, well, goony-looking. It’s ok, you can have him, my friend ;-) I’m sure Mr. Carlin would be happy to hear he’s being passed around like a hastily rolled joint ;-)
